Yellow Project: "The Elephant Project"

The largest land animal, the Elephant, is currently in peril due to conflicts with humans over resources. The Elephant, equipped with its innate knowledge of marking territories, has been engaged in ongoing battles on its territorial grounds. Historical evidence suggests that elephants marked various locations to find forage in different seasons.

However, human activities have intensified the conflict, as elephants defend their territories against encroachment. Human intrusion into elephant habitats has led to clashes over resources, with elephants consuming anything within their territories, exacerbating the conflicts.

As part of the GAF initiative, we are dedicated to resolving these conflicts. Our approach involves using bees as a natural deterrent. By establishing a new territorial fence between wildlife and humans and strategically placing beehives along the park, we aim to create a permanent solution to the conflicts. Bees, being natural enemies of elephants, play a crucial role in deterring them from certain areas, fostering a more peaceful coexistence between elephants and humans and ensuring the protection of vital resources.

This project will be a success based on the green project. Trees are a vital tool that will ensure the success of the yellow project. It entails bee farming; apiculture. Apiculture is the practice of managing the honey bee colonies so that they attain the desired objectives. It enhances biodiversity and helps in improving the yields of crops. Honey bees are associated with forests. The flowers in forests help in sustenance, while trees provide shelter for the honey bees.

  • Farmars Sensitization

Training farmers about beekeeping. Develop training sessions and materials about beekeeping, management of the hives, how to harvest quality honey, and marketing. Setting up systems that farmers will use. Supervise and monitor the implementation of beekeeping. Assist with planning, budgeting, and expenditure appropriations in line with the requirements of the donors. Carry out field evaluations to know the progress of the project and give reports on time.

  • Supporting Farmers

We support the bee farmers , by donating the basic safety tools and equipment for beekeeping; hives, hive tool, bee veil, and smokers.
